Performance Energy is seeking an experienced Drilling & Completions Coordinator to support a high-profile onshore gas development project in India. This opportunity is ideal for a mid-to-senior level professional with a strong background in horizontal drilling and completions in complex shale environments, similar to those found in US shale plays.
You’ll be working in a technically demanding setting, contributing to the early-phase appraisal of a shale gas reservoir. The position requires a proactive approach to well planning, completions, and real-time operations in an integrated drilling services model (IPM). Your experience in managing well simulations, BHA design, and PLT analysis will be critical in driving operational efficiency and well performance.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative service-side environment, leveraging your technical acumen in formation evaluation, completions optimisation, and data interpretation.
Responsibilities
Coordinate all drilling and completions activities for an appraisal well campaign in an onshore shale formation.
Review and implement horizontal well plans, including BHA designs, RSS operations, and mud motor applications.
Interpret PLT data and run simulations using WellCap for torque, drag, and trajectory validation.
Oversee and contribute to the execution of completions strategy aligned with subsurface objectives.
Work closely with geoscience and engineering teams to adapt plans in response to formation challenges such as tectonic and reactive shales.
Ensure compliance with HSE and operational standards throughout the well lifecycle.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in drilling and completions engineering, preferably within shale gas or unconventional plays.
- Proven track record in horizontal drilling, PLT interpretation, and integrated project management (IPM).
- Strong background in formation evaluation and handling tectonic/reactive shale challenges.
- Proficient in well simulation tools such as WellCap, with expertise in torque and drag modeling.
- Ability to operate in a high-pressure, data-driven environment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
